The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP40X5S is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø40mm bore and 5mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE40X5S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ASP40X5S is a single acting push cylinder with spring return: air extends the 12 mm rod and the internal spring retracts it, so one air line is all the plumbing needs. At 0.5 MPa it delivers 556.8 N of push force net of the spring (808.1 N at 0.7 MPa), and it starts moving from just 0.2 MPa. The 5 mm stroke suits tiny clamp or eject motions, and the short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder.
This unit carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be fitted for end-of-stroke signalling. In practice the 556.8 N rating translates to roughly 334 N (about 34 kg) of usable work force at 0.5 MPa, or a vertical lift of about 28 kg with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, the hard-anodized aluminium body carries a 1/8" port, and the female M8x1.25 rod thread accepts standard I/Y knuckles.
