AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE32X25B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP32X25B is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø32mm bore and 25mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE32X25B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ASP32X25B is a single acting push cylinder with spring return: air extends the 12 mm rod and the internal spring retracts it, so only one air line is needed and the rod sits retracted whenever pressure drops. This 32 mm bore delivers 352.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa (513.4 N at 0.7 MPa), already net of the spring, and it needs just 0.2 MPa to overcome the spring. Note that this model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ASE32X25 in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The short ISO 21287-style body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit. A hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends keeps it serviceable across -20 to +70 C at 50-500 mm/s. For planning, treat roughly 0.6 of the 352.5 N rating as usable work at 0.5 MPa, which is about 21 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin. The B code gives a male rod thread; the optional -S magnet code is what enables CMSE / DMSE switches, and none are fitted without it.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 352.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to seat small bearings or press dowel pins in a compact fixture where a 25 mm stroke and one air line keep plumbing simple.
Spring return guarantees the pusher retracts the moment air is lost, clearing parts off a conveyor staging plate without a second valve signal.
About 21 kg of practical vertical load at 0.5 MPa lets this short-body cylinder flap down box lids under a guard with minimal mounting length.
Size against neighbours: the 25 mm bore pushes 210.1 N at 0.5 MPa while the 40 mm bore reaches 556.8 N, so pick the ASP32X25B when your clamping or ejecting load sits between those figures. Because the spring always returns the rod home on air loss, do not use it to hold a mid-stroke position. Mounting brackets in the FA/FB flange and LB foot family bolt to the standard face, and ordering the -S code adds the magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches. For new builds, specify the ASE32X25 instead and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since this series is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa the single acting push is 352.5 N, rising to 513.4 N at 0.7 MPa; both figures are net of the return spring. Operating range is 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, and 0.2 MPa is the minimum needed to beat the spring. Speed runs 50-500 mm/s on air filtered to 40 um.
Sensors work only when you order the optional -S magnet code, which then accepts CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches; this ASP32X25B has no magnet fitted. The series is discontinued, so the current-production drop-in is the ASE32X25 - same 32 mm bore, 25 mm stroke and force class - but confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
