AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE32X25S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP32X25S is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø32mm bore and 25mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE32X25S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the ASP32X25S extends its 12 mm rod on air and retracts it with the built-in spring, so one air line is all the plumbing it needs. At the 32 mm bore it delivers 352.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa (513.4 N at 0.7 MPa), already net of the spring, and it needs at least 0.2 MPa to overcome the spring. The -S code means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke signalling. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production replacement is ASE32X25, same bore, stroke and force class.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight fixtures, guarding and slide assemblies. In practice, plan on about 210 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of the rating), which corresponds to lifting about 18 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper at each end decelerates the rod, the hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, and the female M8x1.25 rod thread plus 1/8" PT port keep integration simple. Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping from the DIN-standard original.

Remember the spring returns the rod to the retracted home position on air loss - it will not hold a mid-stroke position or support a hanging load. The 25 mm stroke suits short clamp-and-release moves at 50-500 mm/s. This unit ships with the -S magnet fitted for CMSE / DMSE switches and a female M8x1.25 rod thread; FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis mounting can be specified. Since ASP is discontinued, order ASE32X25 as the drop-in successor and verify the ISO 21287 mounting pattern.
