A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Eleven stations can each fire a short blast to clear dust or crumbs from cartons and trays before sealing, all fed from one supply.
Single-acting clamps that engage on air and release on spring suit 3/2 control; a manifold bank keeps the whole fixture plumbed and wired from one block.
A shared base can mount the 3/2 valves that send pilot air to larger process valves spread across the skid.
Start with the valves, because the base is only the mounting. For each of the eleven stations choose a 3/2 valve in NC or NO: normally closed gives the outlet no air until the coil is energised, normally open keeps supplying while power is off - pick whichever matches the fail-safe behaviour the machine needs. Match the coil voltage to the panel supply, since a coil cannot be rewired to a different voltage, and choose DIN plug or flying lead per position. We do not hold published flow figures for this valve family in-house, so ask us to check the valve against your actuator before ordering. If a fully documented 3-port valve is needed today, the AirTAC 3V2 and 3V3 bodies have published flow and coil-power figures; a double-acting cylinder instead calls for the 4V series.
