The AirTAC AirTAC GF300-08 Filter (GF30008AW) is a genuine G-series air filter. It separates condensed water and filters particulate from the compressed-air line through a 5 µm element, with PT1/4" ports and a automatic drain. A filter does not set downstream pressure — pair it with a GR regulator, or use a GFR filter regulator, when pressure control is needed.
The AirTAC GF30008AW is a G-series compressed-air filter: it removes water and particulate from the air line and does nothing else - there is no pressure regulation and no lubrication in this unit. The 300 size with PT1/4 port suits 1/4-inch branch lines, and the W grade element filters to 5 um for finer particle capture than the standard 40 um. The A drain is automatic, so collected condensate is discharged without an operator opening the bowl, and the polycarbonate bowl (300/400 sizes are PC; 600 is aluminium alloy) lets the fluid level be checked at a glance. Maximum working pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), operating range -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GF family is offered in 200, 300, 400 and 600 sizes with manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains and a 5 um optional element. Published flow data appears as curves rather than a single rated figure; we confirm the datasheet and flow figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The inlet-pressure band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains run 0.15 - 1.0 MPa, a manual drain runs 0 - 0.9 MPa. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GF300 | G-series air filter, 300 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 08 | Port size PT1/4". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain. Options are differential (blank), automatic (A) or manual (M). |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. A bracket ships by default; J orders it without. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
Field order is size, port, drain, bracket, grade, thread — a blank position takes the default. Example: GF300-10AJW is a 300 body, PT3/8", automatic drain, no bracket, 5 µm element, PT thread.
A larger body carries a larger port and passes more air at the same pressure drop. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom rather than from a single rated figure. The GF600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

| Line order | Filter first, then regulator, then lubricator |
Point-of-use filtration on 1/4-inch branch lines feeding solenoid valves and air cylinders on a CNC machining cell, keeping condensate and fine particles out of the valve seats. The automatic drain handles water removal between shifts without operator attention.
Filtering the air supply to carton-closing and taping heads on a packaging conveyor line, where moisture carryover smears adhesive and rusts actuator internals. The 5 um element suits lines with sensitive pneumatic components.
Cleaning shop air feeding lab benches and small pneumatic test rigs, where visible water and fine dust in the supply would compromise instruments. Automatic drain keeps the bowl clear in unattended overnight runs.
Step up or down through the 200/300/400/600 sizes to match the port and the air demand of the line - the 300 with 1/4-inch port is the mid-small step. Drain choice matters in use: automatic (A, this model) empties itself, manual (M) needs an operator, and differential-pressure (blank) is the default. Choose the W code only where 5 um filtration is genuinely required; the standard blank element is 40 um. Thread is PT as the standard, with G (BSPP) and NPT available as catalogue options; brackets are included unless the J code is ordered. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents or exposed to synthetic oils that attack polycarbonate — wipe it with a dry cloth. A filter removes water and particulate only; it does not regulate pressure or add lubrication.
AirTAC publishes filter flow as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number on the page. Send us your line pressure and air demand and we will confirm the flow figures from the datasheet for your application on request.
The A drain discharges collected condensate on its own, which suits lines that run unattended or in areas nobody walks past. The alternatives are manual drain (code M, opened by hand) and the default differential-pressure drain; all three fit the same GF300-08 body.
