The AirTAC AirTAC GF300-08 Filter (GF30008MJW) is a genuine G-series air filter. It separates condensed water and filters particulate from the compressed-air line through a 5 µm element, with PT1/4" ports and a manual drain. A filter does not set downstream pressure — pair it with a GR regulator, or use a GFR filter regulator, when pressure control is needed.
The GF30008MJW is an AirTAC G-series air filter: it removes water and particulate from compressed air, with no pressure regulation and no lubrication. It is built in the 300 size with a 1/4 in PT port, and the W code swaps the standard element for a finer 5 um grade, suiting air that feeds sensitive equipment. The drain is manual, so condensate is bled from the polycarbonate bowl by hand, and the J code means no mounting bracket is fitted. Working inlet range for this manual-drain configuration is 0-0.9 MPa.
This is a genuine AirTAC part, not an imitation. The GF family spans 200, 300, 400 and 600 sizes with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, 40 um or 5 um (W) filtration, a choice of drain type, and PT as the standard thread with G (BSPP) and NPT as catalogue options. AirTAC publishes flow as performance curves rather than a single rating, so we confirm datasheet figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The inlet-pressure band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains run 0.15 - 1.0 MPa, a manual drain runs 0 - 0.9 MPa. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GF300 | G-series air filter, 300 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 08 | Port size PT1/4". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain. Options are differential (blank), automatic (A) or manual (M). |
| J | Supplied without bracket. A bracket ships by default; J orders it without. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
Field order is size, port, drain, bracket, grade, thread — a blank position takes the default. Example: GF300-10AJW is a 300 body, PT3/8", automatic drain, no bracket, 5 µm element, PT thread.
A larger body carries a larger port and passes more air at the same pressure drop. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom rather than from a single rated figure. The GF600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

On the 1/4 in line feeding benchtop analytical instruments, the 5 um element screens fine particulate that could foul miniature fittings and internal passages, with the manual drain bled during weekly lab checks.
Installed just before the air cap supply on a small paint-finishing bench, it removes water and fine debris that would otherwise cause fisheyes and tip blockage; the manual drain is opened between spray sessions.
Mounted on the drop feeding torque-controlled screwdrivers at an electronics assembly bench, the 5 um element protects the tool's governor and clutch from fine contamination, with condensate drained at each shift change.
The 300 size is the mid-range step in the GF family with a 1/4 in PT port; move to 200 or to 400/600 depending on line porting and air demand. This is the 5 um (W) variant - choose it ahead of spray equipment, instrumentation or fine pneumatic components, and stay with the 40 um standard element for general cylinder and valve supply. Drain options are manual, automatic or differential-pressure; this is the manual type, rated 0-0.9 MPa inlet. PT thread is standard, with G (BSPP) and NPT as catalogue options, and this J-coded unit omits the optional mounting bracket.
Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against the datasheet before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents or exposed to synthetic oils that attack polycarbonate — wipe it with a dry cloth. A filter removes water and particulate only; it does not regulate pressure or add lubrication.
AirTAC publishes GF-series flow as performance curves rather than one rated figure, so no single number applies. Share your line pressure and required air demand and we will confirm the correct size against the datasheet curves on request.
It swaps the standard 40 um element for a finer 5 um grade, for air feeding sensitive equipment such as spray guns or instrumentation. The unit remains a filter only: it does not regulate pressure and does not add lubricant.
