AirTAC GF300-08 Filter (GF30008W)

The AirTAC AirTAC GF300-08 Filter (GF30008W) is a genuine G-series air filter. It separates condensed water and filters particulate from the compressed-air line through a 5 µm element, with PT1/4" ports and a differential-pressure drain. A filter does not set downstream pressure — pair it with a GR regulator, or use a GFR filter regulator, when pressure control is needed.

About the AirTAC GF300-08 Filter (GF30008W)

The GF30008W is an AirTAC G-series air filter: it removes water and particulate from compressed air, with no pressure regulation and no lubrication. Built in the 300 size with a 1/4 in PT port, it carries the finer 5 um element (the W code) in a polycarbonate bowl and includes the mounting bracket. The blank drain position gives the differential-pressure drain as the default: the bowl drains itself when the pressure differential across the element builds up, so no operator intervention is needed and the unit is rated to the full 1.0 MPa (145 psi) maximum inlet pressure.

This is a genuine AirTAC part, not an imitation. The GF family spans 200, 300, 400 and 600 sizes with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, 40 um or 5 um (W) filtration, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, and PT as the standard thread with G (BSPP) and NPT as catalogue options. AirTAC publishes flow as performance curves rather than a single rating, so we confirm datasheet figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The inlet-pressure band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains run 0.15 - 1.0 MPa, a manual drain runs 0 - 0.9 MPa. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: AirTAC GF300-08 Filter (GF30008W)

GF300G-series air filter, 300 body — sets the port range.
08Port size PT1/4". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
(blank)Drain: Differential-pressure drain. Options are differential (blank), automatic (A) or manual (M).
(blank)Mounting bracket included. A bracket ships by default; J orders it without.
WFiltering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
(blank)PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.

Field order is size, port, drain, bracket, grade, thread — a blank position takes the default. Example: GF300-10AJW is a 300 body, PT3/8", automatic drain, no bracket, 5 µm element, PT thread.

  • GF300PT1/4" - PT1/2"
  • GF400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GF600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and passes more air at the same pressure drop. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom rather than from a single rated figure. The GF600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the AirTAC GF300-08 Filter (GF30008W) Is Used

conveyor_belt

Unattended conveyor-drive air supply

Installed on the 1/4 in line feeding pneumatic tensioners and guide cylinders along a conveyor run, the differential-pressure drain sheds condensate on its own, so moisture control continues without an operator visiting the filter.

factory

Compressor-room drop leg

Mounted on a branch drop from the receiver in a small plant compressor room, it removes water and 5 um-level particulate before air branches to the shop floor, with self-draining suited to a location checked only weekly.

shield

Instrument air for a bottling line panel

Bracket-mounted inside a bottling line control panel, it conditions the supply to fill-level sensors and pneumatic detectors, where the 5 um element and unattended differential drain keep sensitive instruments protected between service windows.

Is the AirTAC GF300-08 Filter (GF30008W) the Right Filter?

The 300 size is the mid-range GF step with a 1/4 in PT port; choose 200 for smaller lines or 400/600 for larger ones. This is the 5 um (W) variant for air feeding finer equipment; the 40 um standard element suits general supply. The drain is the differential-pressure default, which discharges condensate as element loading raises the differential - fitting where the filter is inaccessible or unattended, unlike the manual type. Differential and automatic drains are rated to the full 1.0 MPa inlet. PT thread is standard with G (BSPP) and NPT as catalogue options, and the bracket is included.

Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against the datasheet before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain: differential, automatic or manual
  • ✓ Manual drain caps inlet at 0.9 MPa
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Bracket needed, or order with J

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, and follow the airflow arrow.
  • check Put the filter first in the air-preparation line.
  • check Keep inlet pressure within 0.15 - 1.0 MPa (22 - 145 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).
  • check Replace the 5 µm element when pressure loss rises.

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents or exposed to synthetic oils that attack polycarbonate — wipe it with a dry cloth. A filter removes water and particulate only; it does not regulate pressure or add lubrication.

AirTAC GF300-08 Filter (GF30008W) FAQ

AirTAC publishes GF-series flow as performance curves rather than a single rated figure, so there is no one number to state. Give us your line pressure and air demand and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet curves on request.

The blank drain position on this model gives the differential-pressure default: as the 5 um element loads with contaminant, the growing pressure differential triggers discharge of accumulated water from the bowl, so no manual bleeding is needed. Manual (M) and automatic (A) drains are the alternatives, and this configuration is rated to the full 1.0 MPa (145 psi) inlet.
