The AirTAC AirTAC GF400-15 Filter (GF40015MJ) is a genuine G-series air filter. It separates condensed water and filters particulate from the compressed-air line through a 40 µm element, with PT1/2" ports and a manual drain. A filter does not set downstream pressure — pair it with a GR regulator, or use a GFR filter regulator, when pressure control is needed.
The AirTAC GF40015MJ is a G-series air filter for compressed air only: it strips water and particulate from the line, with no pressure regulation and no lubrication. This 400-size unit is fitted with a 1/2 in PT port and the standard 40 um element for general plant-air duty. The J in the code means no mounting bracket is supplied, so the body is plumbed directly without bracket mounting. Drainage is manual: condensate in the PC bowl is emptied by hand, and with a manual drain the maximum working pressure is 0.9 MPa (130 psi). Working temperature range is -5 to 70 C.
This is a genuine AirTAC part from the G series, available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in. Drain type, a 5 um element, G or NPT threads and bracket options can be specified. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so we will confirm the datasheet figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The inlet-pressure band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains run 0.15 - 1.0 MPa, a manual drain runs 0 - 0.9 MPa. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GF400 | G-series air filter, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain. Options are differential (blank), automatic (A) or manual (M). |
| J | Supplied without bracket. A bracket ships by default; J orders it without. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
Field order is size, port, drain, bracket, grade, thread — a blank position takes the default. Example: GF300-10AJW is a 300 body, PT3/8", automatic drain, no bracket, 5 µm element, PT thread.
A larger body carries a larger port and passes more air at the same pressure drop. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom rather than from a single rated figure. The GF600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Inline filtration of the air feed to a CNC machining centre's pneumatic tool-change circuit, plumbed straight into the existing manifold without a bracket.
Point-of-use filter ahead of the valve island on a palletising line, where the 1/2 in supply matches the main feeder and the bracketless body mounts on the pipe run.
Removing line moisture and debris from a laboratory compressed-air ring main before it reaches benchtop equipment, with manual draining during scheduled maintenance.
The 400 size with a 1/2 in PT port suits mid-to-large machine supplies; step down to 200/300 (1/8 to 3/8 in) for smaller lines or up to 600 for bulk plant air. The bracketless J configuration is intended where the filter hangs on the pipework itself or mounts in your own fixture; order the bracketed version if you want a panel or wall fixing. Drain choice is manual here, best where the bowl can be bled routinely, with automatic and differential-pressure variants for unattended points. Stay with the 40 um element for general protection or pick the W variant for 5 um. Thread is PT as standard, with G and NPT as catalogue options. Flow is given as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents or exposed to synthetic oils that attack polycarbonate — wipe it with a dry cloth. A filter removes water and particulate only; it does not regulate pressure or add lubrication.
AirTAC publishes filter flow as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote one l/min or SCFM value. Send us your line pressure and air consumption and we will confirm the flow-curve data from the datasheet for this model on request.
J selects the no-bracket configuration: the filter body is supplied without a mounting bracket, for direct pipework or fixture mounting. The same filter is available with a bracket included as GF40015M. Everything else - 1/2 in PT port, manual drain, 40 um element - is identical.
