The AirTAC AirTAC GF400-15 Filter (GF40015MJW) is a genuine G-series air filter. It separates condensed water and filters particulate from the compressed-air line through a 5 µm element, with PT1/2" ports and a manual drain. A filter does not set downstream pressure — pair it with a GR regulator, or use a GFR filter regulator, when pressure control is needed.
The AirTAC GF40015MJW is a G-series air filter for compressed air: filtration only, with no pressure regulation and no lubrication. This 400-size unit has a 1/2 in PT port and carries the W option, a 5 um element, for finer particle removal than the standard 40 um grade - a good match where sensitive valves, cylinders or instruments sit downstream. The J suffix means no mounting bracket is supplied, and the manual drain means condensate in the PC bowl is emptied by hand. With a manual drain, the maximum working pressure is 0.9 MPa (130 psi); working temperature range is -5 to 70 C.
This is a genuine AirTAC part in the G series, which covers sizes 200 to 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, and offers drain types, filter grades, thread options and bracket choices. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so we will confirm the datasheet figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The inlet-pressure band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains run 0.15 - 1.0 MPa, a manual drain runs 0 - 0.9 MPa. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GF400 | G-series air filter, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain. Options are differential (blank), automatic (A) or manual (M). |
| J | Supplied without bracket. A bracket ships by default; J orders it without. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
Field order is size, port, drain, bracket, grade, thread — a blank position takes the default. Example: GF300-10AJW is a 300 body, PT3/8", automatic drain, no bracket, 5 µm element, PT thread.
A larger body carries a larger port and passes more air at the same pressure drop. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom rather than from a single rated figure. The GF600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Finer 5 um filtration on the air feed to spray guns and proportioning valves in a paint booth, helping keep moisture and fine particles out of the finishing circuit.
Protecting the brake and accumulator valves on a wire-drawing line with 5 um point-of-use filtration on the 1/2 in supply, drained manually each shift.
Pre-filtering air for precision pneumatic drivers and clamps in an electronics assembly cell, where the finer element protects sensitive tool internals.
Choose this code when three things apply: a 400-size body with a 1/2 in PT port, a 5 um element (the W option) instead of the standard 40 um, and a bracketless body. If coarse protection is enough, drop the W and save the finer grade for where it matters; note that finer elements load faster, so pair them with regular manual draining or select the automatic-drain variant. For smaller lines consider the 200/300 sizes (1/8 to 3/8 in ports) and for bulk plant air the 600. Thread is PT as standard with G and NPT as orderable options. Flow appears only as curves in the catalogue, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm datasheet sizing against your application before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents or exposed to synthetic oils that attack polycarbonate — wipe it with a dry cloth. A filter removes water and particulate only; it does not regulate pressure or add lubrication.
AirTAC publishes filter flow as curves rather than one rated number, so we do not state a single l/min or SCFM figure for either element grade. Ask us and we will confirm the datasheet flow curves for this exact 5 um configuration on request, so you can size it against your application.
The W in GF40015MJW selects a 5 um element for finer particle removal, suited to sensitive valves, instruments and precision air tools. The standard blank variant is 40 um for general plant-air protection. Drainage is manual on this model, and with a manual drain the maximum working pressure is 0.9 MPa (130 psi).
