About the Airtac SC50 Standard Cylinder SC50X300N

The AirTAC SC50X300N is a double-acting tie-rod cylinder with a 50 mm bore and 300 mm stroke, fitted with NBR (nitrile) seals for general-purpose pneumatic applications. At 0.5 MPa it produces 982 N of push force and 825 N on the pull stroke, rising to 1767 N at the maximum operating pressure of 0.9 MPa.

This model uses a 20 mm diameter piston rod with an M16x1.5 male thread and PT1/4 ports. The adjustable air cushion at each end (21 mm length) decelerates the piston smoothly, and the total extended body length is approximately 450 mm (150 mm body length A plus 300 mm stroke).

Choose the SC50 bore when your application needs roughly 980 N of force at standard shop air. If you can accept a smaller footprint, stepping down to the SC40 delivers 628 N at 0.5 MPa; for more power, the SC63 provides 1559 N at the same pressure. All mounting accessories from the F-SC50 series (LB, FA, FB, CA, CB, TC) fit this cylinder.

For a 300 mm stroke, confirm that the rod is guided externally or the load is purely axial. A 20 mm rod extended 300 mm is vulnerable to bending under side load—add an external guide rail or switch to a guided cylinder if the load is not perfectly in-line. When replacing an existing unit, match bore, stroke, PT port thread, NBR seal material, and basic mount type to ensure drop-in compatibility.
