The AirTAC GFR400C15C1WT AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has See datasheet ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400C15C1WT is a size-400 filter regulator: water and particulate filtration plus downstream pressure regulation combined in one body. This configuration is threaded NPT1/2 (1/2 in), carries the 5 um filter element (code W) for finer cleaning than the standard 40 um grade, drains condensate by differential pressure, and is fitted with an external round pressure gauge scaled in MPa. The standard regulator adjusts from 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The bowl on this size is polycarbonate (PC).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drain, 40 um or 5 um filtration, embedded square or external round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm the datasheet and sizing figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Mounted at the point of use on a 1/2 in drop from the plant ring main, it cleans the shop air to 5 um and holds a steady regulated supply to the line's pneumatic valves and actuators, with the differential-pressure drain clearing condensate as flow passes through.
Feeding a workholding clamp circuit, the regulator sets and holds the clamping pressure from the 0.15-0.9 MPa adjustment range while the 5 um element keeps fine debris out of the clamp cylinders, and the round MPa gauge gives the operator a clear setpoint reference.
On a distribution conveyor with air-driven diverters and stoppers, this unit filters and regulates the supply branch in one body, protecting the directional valves from water and particulate carryover and keeping gate actuation pressure consistent through the shift.
Start with the size and port: 400 is the second-largest GFR frame, and the 15 position gives a 1/2 in port - step up to 600 if your flow demand is near the top of this frame's curve, or down to 300 if it is light. Choose the drain: differential-pressure (this unit, drains automatically as flow builds) suits most steady-duty lines; automatic suits intermittent duty; manual suits supervised, low-moisture points. Choose the filter grade: 40 um is the standard element and 5 um (this unit, code W) is the finer option for sensitive downstream valves and cylinders. Pick the gauge: an embedded square gauge is standard, an external round gauge (this unit) is optional, with MPa, psi or bar scales. Thread is PT as standard with G and NPT as orderable options - this unit is NPT. Brackets are included on GFR.
One honest note before you order: flow is published as curves, not a single rated number, so send us your application and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you commit.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a l/min or SCFM figure. Send us your application and we will confirm the flow and sizing figures from the datasheet on request before you order.
The W in the code selects the 5 um filter element instead of the 40 um standard grade, giving finer cleaning for sensitive downstream equipment. The blank drain position is the differential-pressure type, which discharges condensate automatically as flow builds - no manual draining on a schedule. If you prefer fully automatic or manual draining, those are available as order options in the same size.
