The AirTAC GFR400C15F2W AirTAC Filter Regulator PT1/2, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has See datasheet ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400C15F2W is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets a stable downstream pressure in one body. This size 400 unit is tapped PT1/2 and carries the 5 um filter element (code W) for finer filtration than the standard 40 um grade. The differential-pressure drain bleeds collected condensate automatically whenever the pressure differential across the element is high enough, so no manual draining routine is needed. The standard regulator covers a 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) setting range, an embedded square gauge with a psi scale is fitted for direct reading, a mounting bracket is included, and no reverse/check valve is fitted. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. On this size the bowl is PC (polycarbonate).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of ports, thread forms (PT standard, G and NPT as order options), drain types, filter grades and gauge scales, so a matching unit can be specified for most line sizes. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure; ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding a mechanical stamping press's air-over-oil clamping circuit, where the 5 um element protects directional valves from scoring and the regulator holds a fixed clamp pressure shift after shift.
Conditioning the atomizing-air branch of a spray-painting line: water and fine particles are stripped before the guns, and the regulator pins the atomizing pressure so finish quality does not drift.
Supplying the cylinders that push, divert and stop packs on a cartoning conveyor, with regulated pressure keeping push-off force consistent across carton sizes and the 5 um grade guarding the valve bank.
Work from the port step first: size 400 with its PT1/2 connection suits lines fed at that pipe size, and the next size up or down is the right move when the main runs differ - never a reducer chosen at random. Choose the drain to match maintenance reality: differential-pressure (this unit) drains itself with flow, automatic drains on a timer-like cycle regardless of flow, and manual drain suits attended points. Pick 5 um (this unit) where downstream valves and instruments are sensitive, or the standard 40 um where coarse protection is enough. Set the gauge scale to match the crew - MPa, psi or bar - and decide whether the embedded square gauge is enough or an external round gauge is wanted. Order PT as the standard thread, or specify G (BSPP) or NPT when the piping demands it; a bracket is included on this unit.
Because catalogue flow is published as curves rather than one rated number, we do not quote a single flow figure. Send us your line pressure, set pressure and expected air demand, and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not state one here. Tell us your inlet pressure, set pressure and expected air demand, and we will confirm the flow figures from the datasheet for this PT1/2 unit on request before you order.
The 40 um grade is the standard element and is adequate for general plant air protecting cylinders and larger valves. The 5 um W element fitted to this unit is the finer option for sensitive downstream equipment such as precision valves, instruments and pneumatic logic. Note that finer filtration loads faster, which is one reason the differential-pressure drain on this unit is convenient: it vents accumulated condensate automatically as the differential across the element rises.
