The 4V21008B-AM is the AirTAC 4V200 single-solenoid 5/2 valve in its 1/4in form, built here with a DC24V coil and PT (Rc tapered) ports. Energise the coil and air shifts to one side of a double-acting cylinder; cut power and the internal spring drives the spool back, so the actuator always returns to a known home position the instant the signal drops. That fail-to-home behaviour is what makes a function-10 valve the default choice for clamp, pusher and return-stroke circuits.
Flow sits at the top of the 4V200 class: 17.0 mm2 effective area (Cv 1.0), enough for double-acting bores of roughly O32-50 mm. The DC24V coil draws only 3.0 W, so a modest 24 V supply can drive a whole bank of valves, and activation takes 0.05 s or less. The aluminium-alloy body is rated IP65 (DIN40050), insulation class B, and runs on air filtered to 40 um with no lubrication needed.

Size the valve so effective area / Cv is not the bottleneck for your cylinder bore and speed. Undersized valves slow the actuator. Note 5/3 (center) versions have a smaller effective area than the 5/2 of the same body size.

Flow is the full 4V200 5/2 rating: 17.0 mm2 effective area, Cv 1.0, up to 5 cycles per second, with activation in 0.05 s or less. Pressure spans 0.15-0.8 MPa working (1.2 MPa proof) on air filtered to 40 um - enough for bores from about O32 (402 N push at 0.5 MPa) up to O50 (982 N).
That is the spring return doing its job. A single-solenoid 5/2 needs the coil energised continuously to hold the working position; remove power and the spring resets the spool at once. If the actuator must hold a pulsed position through a power loss, use the double-solenoid 4V220-08 (memory) instead, or add pilot-operated check valves at the cylinder ports where a load must never drift.
