AirTAC GF400-10 Filter (GF40010J)

The AirTAC AirTAC GF400-10 Filter (GF40010J) is a genuine G-series air filter. It separates condensed water and filters particulate from the compressed-air line through a 40 µm element, with PT3/8" ports and a differential-pressure drain. A filter does not set downstream pressure — pair it with a GR regulator, or use a GFR filter regulator, when pressure control is needed.

About the AirTAC GF400-10 Filter (GF40010J)

GF40010J is a genuine AirTAC G-series air filter in size 400 with a 3/8 in PT port. It is a filtration-only unit for compressed air: it removes water and particulate and carries no regulator and no lubricator. This is the standard configuration: a 40 um filtering element, the differential-pressure drain as the catalogue default, and no mounting bracket (the J suffix). The bowl on the 400 size is polycarbonate, maximum working pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The G filter family runs from size 200 to 600 in ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, with the 40 um standard element or the 5 um W option, and differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains. Flow for the series is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for this model on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The inlet-pressure band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains run 0.15 - 1.0 MPa, a manual drain runs 0 - 0.9 MPa. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: AirTAC GF400-10 Filter (GF40010J)

GF400G-series air filter, 400 body — sets the port range.
10Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
(blank)Drain: Differential-pressure drain. Options are differential (blank), automatic (A) or manual (M).
JSupplied without bracket. A bracket ships by default; J orders it without.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
(blank)PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.

Field order is size, port, drain, bracket, grade, thread — a blank position takes the default. Example: GF300-10AJW is a 300 body, PT3/8", automatic drain, no bracket, 5 µm element, PT thread.

Size Class

  • GF300PT1/4" - PT1/2"
  • GF400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GF600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and passes more air at the same pressure drop. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom rather than from a single rated figure. The GF600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the AirTAC GF400-10 Filter (GF40010J) Is Used

conveyor_belt

Conveyor drive air supply

Filtration at the drop feeding pneumatic cylinders and hold-down clamps on a conveyor line, using the standard 40 um grade for general plant air quality.

settings_input_component

Panel builder air inlet

The air inlet stage on a control or pneumatic panel, where the unit is piped directly between fittings without a bracket and the 40 um element handles general compressed air.

valve

Pneumatic valve manifold protection

A filter point ahead of a directional-valve manifold on a machine frame, keeping bulk water and coarse particles out of the valve stack.

Is the AirTAC GF400-10 Filter (GF40010J) the Right Filter?

Size 400 with the 3/8 in PT port suits lines built on that connection; step to 600 for larger flow demand or down to 300/200 for compact points of use, and let us check the flow curve against your application before ordering, since flow is published as curves and not as a single rating. The 40 um element is the right grade for general plant air; choose the 5 um W version where finer filtration is needed. The differential-pressure drain suits normal duty; take the automatic or manual drain option where condensate handling demands it. PT is the standard thread; G (BSPP) and NPT are catalogue thread options you can order. Add the bracket by ordering the version without the J suffix.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain: differential, automatic or manual
  • ✓ Manual drain caps inlet at 0.9 MPa
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Bracket needed, or order with J

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, and follow the airflow arrow.
  • check Put the filter first in the air-preparation line.
  • check Keep inlet pressure within 0.15 - 1.0 MPa (22 - 145 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).
  • check Replace the 40 µm element when pressure loss rises.

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents or exposed to synthetic oils that attack polycarbonate — wipe it with a dry cloth. A filter removes water and particulate only; it does not regulate pressure or add lubrication.

AirTAC GF400-10 Filter (GF40010J) FAQ

There is no single rated flow figure to quote: AirTAC publishes flow for the G series as curves. Tell us your application and expected duty and we will confirm the datasheet curve and check whether size 400 with a 3/8 in PT port fits, on request.

The differential-pressure drain is the catalogue default: condensate is discharged when the pressure differential across the drain reaches its trigger point during flow through the filter. If your point of use needs hands-off emptying at low flow or planned manual draining, order the automatic (A) or manual (M) drain version instead.
