The AirTAC Airtac SC100 Standard Cylinder SC100X1055 is a genuine double-acting standard air cylinder with a Ø100mm bore and 1055mm stroke, PT1/2 air ports and adjustable end cushioning. It is used for push, pull, lift and clamp motion in industrial automation.
The AirTAC SC100X1055 is a double-acting tie-rod cylinder delivering 3927 N of push force at 0.5 MPa (7068 N at 0.9 MPa). With a 100 mm bore and a 1055 mm stroke, it is built for applications requiring substantial linear force over a long travel distance. The 25 mm diameter piston rod and 29 mm adjustable air cushion help manage end-of-stroke deceleration effectively.
This model features a body length of 188 mm, resulting in a total extended length of approximately 1243 mm. It operates on filtered air (40 µm) within a standard pressure range of 0.15–1.0 MPa and a temperature range of -20 to +70 °C using its default TPU seals. The standard PT1/2 port threads provide reliable pneumatic connections for industrial setups.

Pushes or pulls heavy pallets and components across extended conveyor sections, utilizing the full 1055 mm stroke for wide transfer stations.
Operates large gates, chutes, or sorting mechanisms on harvesters and processing lines, providing reliable force in dusty environments with proper filtration.
Applies up to 7068 N of clamping force at 0.9 MPa for holding large weldments or structural assemblies in position during fabrication.
Select the SC100 when your application demands a force class around 4000 N at standard shop pressure. If your load requires less force, stepping down to an SC80 bore reduces push force to 2513 N at 0.5 MPa, potentially saving on air consumption. For higher force needs, the SC125 bore provides 6136 N at the same pressure.
For this 1055 mm stroke, side-load management is critical. A long, unsupported 25 mm rod can bend under radial forces. Always guide the load externally with rails or bearings, or consider a guided cylinder variant to protect the rod bearings and seals from premature wear. When replacing an existing cylinder, match five points exactly: 100 mm bore, 1055 mm stroke, PT1/2 port thread, basic mounting configuration, and the absence of a built-in magnet.
Quick checklist
At 0.7 MPa operating pressure, the SC100X1055 generates a push force of 5497 N. The maximum push force at the 0.9 MPa upper limit is 7068 N, while the theoretical force at 1.0 MPa is 801 kgf.
It is not recommended. The 25 mm rod on a 1055 mm stroke is susceptible to bending under side loads. An external guide system or linear rail is essential to absorb radial forces and prevent damage to the rod bearing and piston seals.
